Deka Immobilien Investment GmbH was founded as Despa (Deutsche Sparkassen-Immobilien-Anlage-Gesellschaft mbH) on 29 November 1966. A regulated management company and wholly owned subsidiary of DekaBank Deutsche Girozentrale, it manages investment funds centred on real estate, infrastructure and debt.

Deka Immobilien Investment GmbH oversees real estate asset management activities, as well as acquisitions and sales. It also provides real estate services for the entire real estate business division. Together with its affiliate WestInvest Gesellschaft für Investmentfonds mbH (WestInvest), the company does business under the name Deka Immobilien.

Alongside open-ended real estate mutual funds and real estate special funds with a variety of regional and sector-specific investment strategies, as well as real estate funds of funds, Deka Immobilien Investment GmbH offers a wide range of tailored solutions. Those solutions include single-account special funds with various regional and sector-specific investment strategies or tailored pooling vehicles and cooperation partner funds in alliance with external asset managers. The product range is rounded out by infrastructure funds of funds and open-ended debt funds, which institutional investors can use to invest in portfolios of real estate and infrastructure loans from Deka.

Ulrich Bäcker

Ulrich Bäcker Managing Director, Real Estate Management

Ulrich Bäcker is a Managing Director of Deka Immobilien Investment GmbH and WestInvest Gesellschaft für Investmentfonds mbH and is responsible for Global Real Estate Management. As part of this role, he has been responsible for comprehensive asset management of around 600 properties on five continents since 2007.

Bäcker joined DekaBank in 2000 and was initially the Head of Service & Logistics and Real Estate Management for the Bank as well as Managing Director for Group property companies. In these functions, he was responsible for the acquisition and sale of Group properties, plus asset, property and facility management. Before joining Deka, he held a variety of management positions at Dun & Bradstreet and Gesellschaft für Zahlungssysteme. Ulrich Bäcker trained as an industrial manager and computer scientist, specialising in business.

Burkhard Dallosch has been a Managing Director of Deka Immobilien Investment GmbH and WestInvest Gesellschaft für Investmentfonds mbH since 2009. As COO/CRO, he is responsible for the Organisation, Risk and Finance divisions of the Deka Group’s Real Estate business division.

The business economist has more than 30 years of experience in the finance and real estate industries. Previous roles included head of Wohnungsbauförderanstalt (housing promotion agency – Wfa) for the state development bank of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW Bank), CRO/CFO for a mortgage bank and head of a foreign branch of a major bank with responsibility for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Esteban de Lope Fend

Esteban de Lope Fend Managing Director, Real Estate Fund Management

Esteban de Lope Fend has been a Managing Director of Deka Immobilien Investment GmbH and WestInvest Gesellschaft für Investmentfonds mbH since 2020 and is responsible for fund management, product development and sales support.

He has held a variety of positions at Deka since 2002, most recently as Head of Real Estate Fund Management for open-ended retail real estate funds and before that Fund Manager for the Deka-ImmobilienGlobal and Deka-ImmobilienEuropa real estate mutual funds for almost ten years. Before joining Deka, he worked as a construction and project manager at a variety of real estate and construction companies.

Esteban de Lope Fend is a Certified International Investment Analyst (DFVA) and holds degrees in civil engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, industrial engineering from the University of Freiberg and real estate economics (ebs). He has been a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) since 2005.

Victor Stoltenburg Managing Director, Acquisitions and Sales

Victor Stoltenburg has been a Managing Director of Deka Immobilien Investment GmbH since 2019 and is currently the Head of Global Acquisitions and Sales in 27 countries.

He was Head of Acquisitions and Sales Germany for Deka Immobilien for close to 11 years before his appointment to Managing Director.

After studying law, he held a variety of legal positions at Pünder Volhard Weber & Axster (now Clifford Chance) in Berlin and Philipp Holzmann AG in Frankfurt, among others. Starting in 2005, he worked as Real Estate Investment Manager for SEB Immobilien-Investment GmbH (Frankfurt) and Union Investment Real Estate (Hamburg), where he was responsible for real estate investments in other European countries.
