UAB Maxima LT renews lease at BIG VILNIUS in Lithuania

Deka Immobilien has signed a long-term lease extension with the grocery retailer UAB Maxima LT at its shopping center BIG VILNIUS. The agreement covers approximately 3,880 sqm of retail space and runs for a period of 15 years. Maxima, Lithuania’s largest retail company, remains one of the center’s key anchor tenants – a strong vote of confidence in the location’s high footfall and well-balanced tenant mix.

BIG VILNIUS opened in 2006 and was acquired by Deka Immobilien in 2007 for the open-ended real estate fund WestInvest TargetSelect Shopping. With a total area of around 28,000 square meters and more than 80 stores, it is one of the most important urban convenience centers in the Lithuanian capital.

The diverse retail and dining offering is complemented by more than 500 above- and underground parking spaces, relaxation zones, a children’s play area, a modernized reading lounge, and a parent-child room – creating an inviting environment for everyday needs and extended stays.

In addition to BIG VILNIUS, Deka Immobilien also owns the Akropolis Shopping Centre in Kaunas and the Quadrum Business Centre in Vilnius. The latter was acquired in 2019 and was one of the largest office real estate transactions in the entire Baltic region at the time.

Vilnius is one of the most dynamic tech hubs in Eastern Europe. The Lithuanian capital is home to one of the fastest-growing startup ecosystems in the region and has received multiple awards for its digital governance and high quality of life – ideal conditions for sustainable growth in retail and real estate.
