The DC Tower is a prime example of sustainable architecture, combining architectural elegance with resource-conscious construction and technical sophistication. With a gross floor area of 93,600 sqm and 75,000 sqm of leasable area, the tower offers flexible, future-oriented working environments.
From its inception, the building was constructed in strict accordance with the EU Commission’s energy and environmental standards for green buildings and, in 2015, was awarded LEED® Platinum certification. Since then, Deka Immobilien has implemented further sustainability measures, and in 2025 the building received an ‘Excellent’ rating from BREEAM AT.
A Landmark of the City
When it comes to innovative working environments, the DC Tower in Vienna is in a league of its own. Standing at 250 metres tall and comprised of 60 floors, the DC Tower is not only the tallest office building in Austria, but also one of the slimmest high-rise buildings in the world. It is also equipped with 29 high-speed lifts capable of travelling up to 8 metres per second, almost three times faster than standard lifts.
Work, Wellbeing and Relaxation
The building offers space for around 6,500 people and is characterised by first-class local amenities and excellent transport infrastructure. Located directly on the Danube, there are numerous sports and relaxation facilities in the immediate vicinity – and the tower itself offers users a fitness centre with swimming pool as well as a wide range of dining options.
Mobility Fleet
The DC Tower promotes sustainable mobility with its own e-mobility fleet, ranging from cars and bicycles to scooters – including a charging station directly at the building. Tower employees can easily rent the vehicles via an app. In addition, the tower provides excellent links to public transport and comprehensive cycling infrastructure, which includes a bicycle workshop, changing rooms and showers, thereby ensuring users can travel to the tower easily without a car.
Energy Efficiency and Technological Operations
Photovoltaic systems, energy-regenerating lifts, efficient rainwater management and operations that run on 100% renewable electricity form the basis of the DC Tower’s advanced energy concept. Concrete core temperature control is an especially innovative feature, utilising the stored heat or coolness in the building mass to control the temperature of the building so that the temperature can be adjusted efficiently depending on the season.
